Faith Shoes, PR Marketing Department, Head Office

The PR team at Faith asked me to help out for a couple of weeks, and seeing as it was half term I was more than happy to help and I did feel very privileged I was able to have another work experience!
The reason for my assistance needed was to help with launch of the new Oxford Street store. Another shoe shop up in Oxford Street London .... so needed!
Within the two weeks I was assigned specific tasks. Firstly was to help with the send out of invatations, was great for me to broaden my knowledge of the PR fashion world! getting familiar with the names etc. I also had to organise the items for the goodie bags... and all i was hoping was that one would be addressed to me!
I did get a chance to assist with the Launch, which turned out really successful, was so much fun!

Endzone Make Up and Hair Artists

Endzone asked me to come back to help again! It was for a photographers portfolio; he was going for the angel v devil look. One of the looks was lots of pinks and flowers, making the model very girly, and the second look was very 'bad chick' so a lot of black!

Faith Shoes, PR Marketing, Department, Head Office

To some up this month in one sentance, I can honestly say, that this was an experince of what its like to 'start from the bottom and work your way up'!  I was fortunate enough to be able to work along side the PR team for Faith Shoes; and this was where I realised, I could definetely see my self doing this job in 5 years time!... maybe not precisely 5 years but in the future, for sure!
My responsibilities for helping the PR team were: firstly, keeping the sample cupboard tidy. The sample cupboard was like any girls dream! All that was accompanying me was shoes, shoes.. and more shoes.. and a few bags just too add! I found this more like shoe heaven rather than hard work!, So this task wasn't a problem for me. I ensured that the shoes were on the stand, sometimes in order of the season; sometimes seperated the heels from flats and boots or sometimes even colour coordination.
Another responsibility I had was inputting the samples onto the system and dispatching to the publications. Otherthan the obvious, lots of taping up packages and bags of shoes!, this was a great task as it enabled me to familiarise myself with the magazines and PR names from companies.
Overall, I loved the experience I had with Faith Shoes, not only were they all lovely, and let me get involved with watching a casting, with male models... but the overall experience was a great start and taster into my future! It broadened my fashion knowledge and had a great insight to how a PR Marketing department functions.

Endzone Make up and Hair Artists - New band promotion photo shoot

A month or so later, and Endzone asked me to help out again!, This was another taster of the goings on behind the camera! I was more than excited to help out, i recieved an email regarding the criteria and was told to bring a pen and paper, which hinted that one of my jobs of the day was to keep note of credits.
This shoot I was asked to assist with today was for a new band promotion; they were two young girls who have just been signed, in their twenties or so. They played upon the 'super hero' culture, embedding the whole super girl attitude and style, emphasising the key aspects you need in a girl band I suppose!
The first assignment I was given was to unpack the clothes for the shoot, steam them and style which accessories go with the outfits for each girl. The outfits for both girls were pvc catsuits, hence the super hero theme! They were perfect for the style of the shoot; the patent black and red shoes couldn't be more perfect! This assignment was great practice for styling and how to make a superhero look high fashion. This was a task I was eager to complete and End zone were happy with the results!
I then logged all the clothing and the accessories being used to ensure that they were sent back to the correct companies. I masked the shoes with tape to ensure that the shoes don't get marked or scuffed, want the best job in the world, but I did it! I'm guessing this is so the shoes get returned pretty much in the same condition that they were given to be used.
The make up was so cool! It was intriguing looking at how the make-up and hair can impact the whole look of the shoot. Sim and Mel, the hair and make up artists did an amazing job! The girl wearing the black catsuit had gelled back hair in a high pony tail, so that therefore it highlighted the make up of which was black lips and a black painted mask over the eyes. The girl in the red had electric red hair which was PERFECT for the outfit, the make up was still dark smokey eyes with a hint of red and bright red lips, which also hinted the stereotypical sexy girl in red. I had to paint the nails and help out with the curling and straightening of the hair, not a bad job at all!
The backdrop of the set was a green wall, this was evidently used to they can edit a background in once the pictures have been chosen. The photographer was a really cool young guy, who was very friendly with end-zone which made the atmosphere very chilled and relaxed even though we were all working hard! Throughout the day I made sure that anything they required that I was there to help with, whether it was a cup of tea or laying out the clothes for the next shot.
The day went really quickly, which is always a good sign, and I loved the whole buzzing vibe! Having  worked with Endzone before I felt very privileged that they had asked me to help out again with this project. :)

When I came across this music video, it instantly reminded me of this shoot! The clothing and hair was so similar; this is probably due to 'superhero', girl dominating view!

Britians Next Top Model- Episode 8

Britians Next Top Model... I knew that when i recieved the call that it wasn't for me to compete, thats for sure! but having accepted the offer for being an extra hand to help out, was equally as good!!
I was so excited, being able to experience the 'behind the scenes' for one of my favourite programmes couldn't be more thrilling. The fashion, styling, back drops, photography, make up and hair was an intrest i wanted to continue my journey in of exploring more and more!!This was an oppurtunity of which all these things come together; and it was.
I woke up at the crack of dawn, got on my compfortable shoes and headed out for the busy day ahead; ( i did put that extra effort seeing as all the models were there!). I arrived in central london, one of my favourite shopping areas, nothing beats selfridges!, and walked to the studio of which the episode was being filmed.
It wasnt so much a studio, but more like a very chique town house with empty rooms.
The first assignment was to help Endzone Make-Up artists, I looked at the pictures they had been sent from the PR team of what look they were going for on this shoot. It was very big hair, sexy but classy outfits, but the shoes were the product we were trying to emphasise, the shoes had to stand out, and that was the PR roll, that this will be achieved! This epidisode was a challenge, and who ever had the best photo which highlighted the shoes; the prize would be that the winners photo would be in the window in faith shoes store, I wouldn't mind that for a prize!!
During the day I helped with the Make-up and Hair artists on the set; ensuring that they had a list of what each model was wearing and the time schedules for each shoot; so they could plan the Make Up. This experience was overwhelming; it gave me a much wider knowledge of how everyones roles are important for the day too run smoothley: from the photographer, stylist and model. I was very fortunate to work on a live set, and be hand on to assist Endzone on the day. From this experience, the fashion and styling intrested me much more rather than the make up and hair. I walked away from this day, wanting to have many days like that again!
Britians Next Top Model was very exciting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
